FAQ
What is a “C.S.A.”?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It allows the farmer to be assured that the crops will be bought and used during the season, and gives the costumer a source of fresh, local and in-season produce each week. An abundance or lack of produce is shared by farmer and the community involved, and hopefully a spirit of well-being and a passion for healthy living as well.

How much does it cost?

We have decided to do a monthly subscription – so it will cost you $20 per week. If there are 5 Tuesdays that month you pay $100, if there are 4 then you pay $80. You can pay for one, two, or three months upfront to hold your spot. You also decide if you would like a Tuesday or Thursday subscription so that could affect the cost on the months that there are more Tuesdays or Thursdays.

What Can I Expect in my CSA?

$20 worth of produce is enough to feed 2 people who cook every night or 4 people who cook a few times a week. We will try to give you 5 different things each week. There are no specifics because sometimes things do not go as planned and we may encounter a bug or weather induced crop failure and will have to substitute one things for more of something else that did not get damaged. The usual spring crops include summer squash, zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, arugula, eggplant, peppers, beans, basil and okra. We also have canned and processed some of last seasons crops and those may pop up in the CSA from time to time as well. This of course is a general idea – there are no guarantees. The fun is that you hopefully will experience new vegetables and will have to try new recipes and broaden those taste-buds. If you have a severe allergy to anything (from fruits, nuts as well as vegetables) PLEASE tell us BEFORE you sign up.

That’s too much food for me. Can I sign up for a half share?

You are welcome to split a share with a friend and pick up every other week. However, it’s up to you to arrange and organize that situation.

When and Where Do I Pick Up?

You will choose a Tuesday or Thursday Pick-up, and the orders will be available from 12pm-8pm on those days. We label and store your items in coolers at the farm – 400 W. 6th Ave Tallahassee, FL

How Do I Pay?

We can accept payment through PayPal, or you can stop by the farm and pay with credit card, personal check, or cash. You must email tenspeedgreens@gmail.com to confirm your spot in order to sign up.

When Do I Start?

Your CSA will begin the first Tuesday or Thursday of the month. We will sign you up for the CSA only after we receive payment. We are limited to 25 members each month so pre-paying and sign up is important.
